Finally, Jilly has a quiet month. Of course she prefers to have more work, but it isn't all bad. Now she can work on updating her videos. In fact she just edited and uploaded one! A live performance of "L-O-V-E. Check it out at her music page or on her youtube channel.
She has been tardy in keeping track of her TV work so may not be uploading some of her more recent appearances. If anyone has a copy of "Perfect Cut" (channel U, season 2, episode 9), "My Sassy Neighbour" (channel 5, season 3, episode 6), any episode of "Bertha's Nest" and "Da Chellam!", you're welcome to help her out. She knows she needs it. :-)
Another noteworthy update is on her IMDb page. She has 4 new credits.
- as Susan Ho in "Cashless" (Singapore, trailer)
- as Bee Geok in "Sayang Sayang" (Singapore, channel 5 series)
- as Mei-li Wu in "The Black Rabbit" (USA, trailer, clip 4)
- and her first screenwriting credit for "The Black Rabbit" (USA)
Thanks so much to "The Black Rabbit" writer/director/actor (and more) Eric Dapkewicz and Mako Pictures for giving Jilly that screenwriting credit! Sometimes she wonders why... He really was the brains behind everything. Buy the DVD here.
After clarifying and understanding how the concert isn't contradicting the cause, Jilly emcee'd and sang at Earth Hour on March 28th 2009. It was such a wonderful experience and it was such a privilege to share the stage with so many wonderful performers that evening.
She was also very happy to share two of her original songs for the event.
The musicians for "If I Were Human" were not able to make the event so Jilly referred to them affectionately as her invisible band on stage. Big thanks to Eric, Benson and Erik for the minus one track! Don't forget to check out their website here.
The guitarist for "Shelter" was the affable Thomas Wu who has his own band, Leeson. Visit their website here.
This is the third time "If I Were Human" was performed, following its humble Substation premiere and its integration with Wisdom of Monkeys for their play "Ex-ceptance". It's about human life from an alien's point of view. Here are the lyrics.
"Shelter" was an idea loitering about in her head before Jilly really got down to writing a special song for Earth Hour. When she was asked if she'd like to sing and emcee all for a good cause, she knew that was the song she was going to write specially for the event. Would you, along with the audience that night, like to guess what the song is about? Here are the lyrics.
Thanks to all who came by to Earth Hour on March 28th, and even more thanks to all who turned their lights off at 8:30pm for an hour. And thanks to my lovely musicians, and all the performers that day, for their generous participation. To the organisers who made it happen from the 2.2 million Sydney residents who started it in 2007 to the kind folks at WWF and Ultrex.
And... Thank you EARTH!
Jilly has been emcee-ing for Pfingo the last two weeks. And the next week, and next month...
A product to be proud of, Jilly Is glad to share information about Pfingo and some of her silly jokes and ideas. You might have caught her at Woodlands, Raffles Place, the Heeren, Cineleisure, or most recently SMU (which she will return to on March 24th and 25th, and between the same hours of 10am to 3pm).
The next one is at Raffles Place on 4th and 5th of March, between 11am and 8pm. She hopes to see you then!
Happy New Year to everyone!
So how did you spend the last night of 2008 before ushering in the new year? Well, Jilly had a swell time ringing in the new year with the revellers at the Verandah's Hats & Caps Countdown Party at the British Club, Singapore.
As the mistress of ceremony (emcee), Jilly welcomed everyone with some warm-ups and led the children through some exciting games. However, she did not forget the adults who were such good sports as well. The best hat segments brought on a lot of cheers and laughter, especially with the adults showing off their fancy catwalks.
All the staff, including the DJ and chefs, were in delightfully good spirits as they served and danced all night. The countdown on the dance floor was unforgettably and unmistakably fabulous! Ultimately, it was a lovely delicious fun-filled night by the pool for the entire family and Jilly is grateful to have shared that experience.
Once again, Happy 2009!
Jilly had a splash while performing as the bright Starfish in the 61 sold-out shows of the musical, "Rainbow Fish". To her, the stage is definitely more important than backstage. And every single member of the audience matters dearly to her. So she was very pleasantly surprised and blushingly grateful to find these candid reviews online :
"He was concentrating on what is happening on-stage and smiled
occassionally when he spotted the starfish. It seemed to be his
favourite as he kept asking me where the starfish went as it goes
offstage." - House of Ang
"Halfway thru the show she turned to me and said her fav was the starfish"
- Sophie, Ailing & James
"She was fascinated by the colourful sea creatures especially the starfish"
- Clarice, Mommy & Daddy
Such sweet and kind words. It's merely her job which she loves. :-) All blog quotes and links are published here with kind permission from the blog oweners. Thank You all once again!
To celebrate the festive and holiday season, Jilly is honoured to invite you to join her as she sings some jazz and Christmas songs.
You can hear her at One Fullerton from 8pm to 8:45pm on December 19th and 24th. She will be performing with some friends, Dawn on keyboards and Daniel on guitar. The shows are free for the public and it looks set to be a cool enchanted tropical evening along Marina Bay.
Here's a map to One Fullerton, complete with MRT train information (Raffles Place is the nearest stop).
So come by this Friday and/or Christmas eve, and say hi. If you have any requests, feel free to tell her on her guestbook or her email!
Ex-ceptance came and went. And the experience of preparing for it and then performing it for a lovely audience was magical. A big thank you to one and all who came by.
And do let us know what you thought about the show by commenting on the guestbook here: wisdomofmonkeys.weebly.com
The 75 minute show also showcased "Tuesday Afternoon" and her original song, "If I Were Human", which wouldn't be possible without the band who worked with her on the song. They came to the show, and were beautiful audience members as well as friends. So special thanks on Benson on bass, Erik on guitars and Eric on keyboards. You guys truly rock!
Thank you once again and stay tuned to see what other monkey business the team at Wisdom of Monkeys is up to! :-)
Jilly would like to invite you to spend this Saturday afternoon with her and her dear friends from Wisdom of Monkeys productions. For full details please vsisit wisdomofmonkeys.weebly.com

Firstly, Jilly wants to apologise for not updating this site for quite a while. It has been a busy but wonderful November and she wants to thank everyone for the kind birthday wishes!
Besides spending quality time with family and friends, Jilly has been busy hosting for quality clients as well! They include Pfingo and Olay with Ultrex.
She has also been singing at events, as well as lovely weddings with Wedding Harmony. She has learnt a few new Mandarin songs and is grateful to be able to celebrate romance with the happy couples as well as her band members.
She has also been jamming with Benson, Eric and Erik who have been more than sweet to work with her on her originals. Awww! There will definitely be more news to come soon...
Jilly was also on TV for "Moonface", "Sayang Sayang" and "My Sassy Neighbour" (a re-run).
So if you happen to see Jilly anywhere around town, please stop by and say hi! :-)
Together with her buds, Jilly enjoyed performing in "The Crow's Lament". This play was staged for SPCA's World Animal Day celebration in the park. So if you were there at East Coast Park on October 5th, she hopes you and your furry friends enjoyed the show along with many other fun activities.
If you're an animal lover, aren't bugs also animals? :-)
